This is an original poem written by me about a seaside town in Victorian times compared with the town today. It has previously been published as a stand alone poem but not with worksheets included. the worksheets involve comprehension, Spag,internet research, historical facts and drawing conclusions. it is suitable for KS2 or upper KS1.The worksheets allow for differentation or can be printed out as an entire workbook. This resource would link well with a Victorian topic.

This PDF file is for KS1 and SEN to develop creative writing. I have written 18 original story prompts relating to summer. Each page has the prompt and a colourful picture to stimulate ideas. These can be laminated and kept for use for groups or individual children. I have also included a powerpoint presentation which can be used with the whole class for modelled writing.

The children are given the opening lines (mostly 2) of a poem based around the sea, about creatures, people, pirates and sea features eg rockpools. These prompts are to stimulate the children's imaginations to write their own poetry. They can be printed out, laminated and kept for other classes. This 28 page resource has the Nativity story written in an original format and in child friendly vocabulary. It is suitable for KS1 and tells the story of the birth of Jesus, the visit of the shepherds, the journey of the wisemen and the role of King Herod. It consists of reading pages and follow up writing and drawing activities. The booklet can be printed out for each child or used for differentation. It is a similar format to my Easter story book recommended by Tes. I have also included a powerpoint presentation. Written activities include vocabulary exercises, comprehension questions, newspaper reports , sentence construction, retelling parts of the story and ordering.

Another original short story written by me in a child friendly vocabulary set in 1895, Jayne, the young lady of the house is attending a ball in the manor and waiting patiently for a young suiter to appear. There are various characters in the story and this could be used as an introduction to a long novel, Shakespearian or Dickensian literature in preparation for Grammar/ Secondary school. There are pages to read and discuss so I have included a powerpoint presentation followed by comprehension questions, writing activities and drawing conclusions. There is dictionary work and internet research.

This is the third in the series of My Colour Books for Early years and KS1 children. It is themed for Summer with colourful graphics. The tasks are to complete sentences using the correct colours, visual awareness is important and recognition of colours essential. There are also two wordmaps which could be laminated one on Seaside words and one on colours. These could be used as aids for writing ecxercises.
